Emerging Artist Updates & Journey
2023-2024
Pictured In Studio, 2023 at the Royal Drawing School's SPACE Studios Location, London, England, UK
In 2023, I had the opportunity to complete Artist Residencies at the Royal Drawing School in London and Dumfries House in Scotland. These experiences have profundly impacted my visual language and observational drawing practice.
For 2024, my focus remains on pushing the boundaries of my artistic practice by leveraging my established visual language and exploring new frontiers of creative expression. With a commitment to experimentation and innovation, I aim to deepen my exploration of narrative storytelling, surrealism, and observational drawing. Concurrently, I am dedicated to refining my teaching practice, drawing from my experiences and insights gained as an artist and educator. My goal is to inspire and empower students to discover their unique artistic voices while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Through continuous growth and exploration, I aspire to make meaningful contributions to both my artistic journey and the development of other aspiring artists.
2022
EXHIBITIONS
I made the goal to exhibit and network and that led exhibiting in a few different places. I'm very grateful to each opportunity I've had and found this to be a powerful growth opportunity. I exhibited in 8 shows! My new goal is a solo art exhibit and curating my own large scale installation. Stay tuned.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Focus. That is the key word that drives me. 2022 was a time of reflection and reorganizing my focus into what I love and I want to accomplish. I enjoy museum work and my goal is to teach art in some way or form so I found a way to take what I love and am fortunate to work in an environment that allows to meld the two together everyday.
TRAVEL
1. An amazing workshop led by Bradford Salamon in Newport Beach with Kristine Schomaker, where I got to work with and learn from a group of great and local artists to the LA area.

2. I returned to Davis as a working artist with an Exhibition at the Pence Gallery in Davis, CA. Goal completed.
ART WORK
My focus in this time was trying to reconnect and understand the human figure. My biggest issue was trying to find the motivation and voice to create work with meaning.
2020-2021
"Adjusting to life as an Artist in the AV"
I re-located to Southern California, was trying to navigate and figure out how to make the "Full Time Artist Life" a reality. In this time I was networking, painting and constantly working on my portfolios, my health permitting. And began facilitating/ teaching Figure Drawing at MOAH:CEDAR.
2020
"The Quarantine Artist Life"
Highlights: Made this website, self-isolated, adapted to life after college during a global pandemic and survived Covid-19.
2019
"The Free Lance Artist Life"
Started building my creative practice one project at a time.

Expanded my portfolio by collaborating with other artists, and experimented with my style and technique.

UC DAVIS
2014-2019
Highlights: Got my Bachelors' of the Arts in Art Studio and Religious Studies, along with a minor in Art History.
My studio practice consisted of a double concentration in Painting and Photography, but I also got a feel for other mediums including ceramics, sculptural work, and printmaking .
EARLY LIFE
"The Desert, Frank Zappa, Dorthy, and Me, That's What They'll Say..."

I grew up in the town of Lancaster, CA, known for its poppies, musical road, and Apollo Park.
Fun Fact: I went to the oldest High School in LA County, Antelope Valley High School. Apparently, Frank Zappa and Judy Garland were both students there at some point too. Zappa even wrote a song about the desert valley, "Village in the Sun."
